Transurban Queensland is lighting up Brisbane’s skyline for Legacy Australia with the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges set to shine in blue and maroon to promote Legacy Week from 27 August to 2 September 2017.
Transurban Queensland are proud supporters of Legacy Australia with one cent from every toll collected on Legacy Way donated to the not-for-profit organisation until 2030.
Legacy Way opened in 2015 and was named in honour of the men and women who have served in the Australian Defence Force and the charity which has been caring for veterans’ families since 1923.

Transurban Queensland General Manager Operations David McLoughlin said Transurban Queensland is proud to help raise awareness about Legacy Australia and the vital services they provide to veterans’ families.
“To celebrate Legacy Week, we are lighting up the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges in honour of the contribution Legacy makes to caring for the families of Australian veterans,” David said.
“At Transurban Queensland we are focused on investing in the communities in which we operate, which is why we have committed to donating a minimum of $100,000 to Legacy Australia every year until 2030, that’s $1.5 million over 15 years.
“Through our partnership with Legacy Australia, Legacy Way is delivering a more reliable journey for motorists as well as delivering benefits and funds back into the community.”
Legacy Brisbane CEO Brendan Cox said the partnership between Legacy Way and his organisation is a wonderful initiative by Transurban.
“Legacy Way allows everyday people driving through the tunnel to be reminded that Legacy is still part of this community,” Brendan said.
“Transurban has been able promote Legacy, a wonderful Australian charity, on a daily basis which is always a challenge, but more than that is a wonderful reinvestment back into the community.”
Legacy is an Australian volunteer organisation providing services and support to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the death of a spouse or parent during or after their defence force service.
